SEMI METALLIC 

Metallic brake pads are a fair priced allround solution for most common conditions, where brakes are not getting extremely heated up. They work exxcelent for urban use, dirt, cross country and lighter enduro rides with shorter downhill segments. Even downhill racers, who are not standing on the brake all the way down, swear on the higher brake performance than the sintered brake pads offer. The high percentage of iron and copper in the compound, offer a longer life and more heat resistance compared to organic disc brake pads.

SINTERED

Heavy weight champions and all those who hammer down the hill swear on sintered pads. The overall braking power is a bit less than on our semi metallic pads, but they can handle way more heat (850° - 900°) and they offer a more stable braking performance specially during wild and rough rides. You can use them in all conditions, no matter if wet or dry.
Sintered pads are the first choice for downhill and freeride use and for people who bring a bit more weight on the scale. If you ́re situated in Whistler, than those little fellas are definately a must.

Attention: To avoid glazing, sintered brake pads need a running in time without heat development. The first 200 brake applications should get done controled under lower speed. This process helps to roughen up the surface of the friction material. Because of the high metal portion, sintered brake pads need a disc with bigger holes on the braking surface, to keep the surface of the friction material rough.
